I've uploaded my homepage, but I only see a list of files

Check that your homepage is named index.htm, index.html or index.php, all in lowercase, Index.html, INDEX.HTML or index.HTML will not load automatically when people visit your website.

Also check that your index is loaded into the root of the /public_html/ folder.
